[STORMREPORTS] Northeast Blizzard

This has turned out to be some storm. Measuring snow
outside here in Baiting Hollow, NY is terrible, but
not impossible. The conditions outside have gotten
much worse than an hour ago when light to moderate
snow was falling and a visibility of around a mile.
Now its full blown whitout conditions (visibility
around 500feet, but occationally only 200feet). The
snow is still falling moderatly, but it is now being
whipped around by 35mph. gusts into drifts up to three
feet high. Conditions here resemble the Canadian
tundra. When I went outside to measure the snow at
9pm, it was 13.5", I was unable to look into the wind.
 The snow was smashing off my face so much it was
agony to look in the direction of the wind, epecially
when it got in my eyes. I haven't seen conditions
like this since the massive blizzard in 1996. The
driveway, which was bare pavement at 5pm, is now under
5" to 10" of snow, and ther is more in the street.
The plows only made one pass through here. I have
pity for anyone whose on the roads around here and
hope they have a blanket or two in the car. Storm
summary to be posted tomorrow.
