The heat wave pages have been updated, including the information that
Michael sent to the CASILIST which is attached below.
http://www.weatherwatchers.org/1998/warmth/
I have run into a situation in which I will have limited computer time
this week, and not wanting to launch the new CASI site until everything
is complete, I will probably wait until this weekend to do so.
Also, Sharon K. sends this URL about Hurricane Mitch. It looks like
they are developing a cool interactive Java app there but it was not
working this evening when I checked it:
Here's some interesting info on Mitch's aftermath and what USGS is doing
down there to provide disaster relief.

Newark (EWR) tied a record high for 12/2 with 66F. A new record was set
on 12/3 with 70F, and an all-time December high was set on 12/4 with
75F! Early this afternoon (12/7), EWR set another record high of 76F,
which would make this the new all-time December high temp. (for some
reason, I haven't heard of that being "officially" recorded).
