Tropical Storm Charlie has just been upgraded to a Hurricane, Category 1 by
the National Hurricane Center. I live in Merritt Island, FL on Florida's
East Coast, and as we all know, the Northeast quadrant of a Hurricane is by
far the strongest.

The office of Emergency Management, is holding a meeting tomorrow night, to
discuss the probability factors of evacuating the Barrier Islands, which
Merritt Island is a barrier island.

Charlie's track as of now, will put the Northeast quadrant of Hurricane
Charlie directly over Orlando, then on to Melbourne, Viera, Rockledge,
Merritt Island, Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Sharpes, Titusville and other
portions of Brevard County. Forecasters expect Hurricane Charlie to strike
Brevard County some time late Friday Evening and into early Saturday morning
  At the time it hits Brevard County, this system should either be a strong
Tropical Storm or a weak Category 1 hurricane.
