HEADLINES:

Outbreak Of Severe Weather Across Great Lakes, Corn Belt, Into Mid-Atlantic
States During The Next 48 Hours; Turbulent Pattern Setting Up Across Eastern
Third Of U.S. Starting This Weekend, Due to Conflict Between Retrogressing
Trough And Building Subtropical High

EXPECTED NORTH AMERICA SEVERE OR EXTREME WEATHER NEXT 24 HOURS:

as well. See the SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK below for details.
Thunderstorms will also fire across parts of the Desert Southwest and lower
Front Range during the near term. Part of the moisture is related to a
dispersed plume from Tropical Storm Blas in the Equatorial Eastern Pacific Ocean. The
expansion of the Sonoran heat ridge may act to decrease convective potential
between the Continental Divide and Rocky Mountains. The major story from the
central/lower Missouri Valley to the Mexican border will be heat, with readings
of 100 deg F possible in a few locations.
