QUOTES:
"Thunder, lightning, rain and hail caused problems areawide Monday as a
storm system surged through the area, officials said.
Meteorologist John Sirmon of the National Weather Service says high winds
and hail were reported in Northeast Texas and Southeast Oklahoma.
"We had reports of golf-ball sized hail in McCurtain County, and 1-inch
hail near Flint in Smith County," Sirmon said.
He says winds reached gusts of eight <typo:eighty?> miles an hour in
Texarkana, according to the National Weather Service official observing
station in Texarkana.
Sirmon also says central Bowie County experienced problems due to the storm
as well, with some minor structural damage occurring to a home west of New
Boston."
