QUOTES:

"WABAMUN, Alta. (CP) - A powerful storm packing golf-ball-sized hail
damaged buildings and caused some injuries at a lake resort and golf course
Tuesday.

Environment Canada meterologist Martin Van Olst said there were several
reports that a tornado had touched down about 4 p.m. at Lake Wabamun, about
60 kilometres west of Edmonton, and at nearby Cougar Creek Golf Course.

Environment Canada was unable to confirm the tornado reports right away,
but Van Olst said radar showed a strong wind rotation in the storm and
there was a "good likelihood" that a tornado touched down.

Hail, some as big as baseballs, damaged homes and vehicles in the lakeside
village of Wabamum.

Golf-ball-sized hail was reported in the small community just east of
Edmonton, Environment Canada said."
