"THREE holes through the astro turf extending into the concrete below and
an exploded wheelie bin on the cricket pitch at Stokes Circuit, Taree are
evidence of the violent nature of the electrical storm which hit the
Manning on Thursday afternoon.
Such was the ferocity of the lightning strike which destroyed the garbage
bin, nearby residents called Taree police thinking there had been a bomb
blast. Meanwhile the wheels of the bin are nowhere to be found."
