"A tornado tore through several blocks in Richfield Tuesday damaging roofs,
cars and downing power and phone lines.

The National Weather Service estimated that the tornado was probably an F-0
on the Fujita scale based on the damage in the area. The twister could be
upgraded to an F-1 as more damage is examined.

One witness said the twister picked up a car in a grocery store parking lot
and threw it into a second vehicle.

Lt. Alan DeMille of the Richfield police department said one garage roof
was torn off and dropped on the ground. The officer said several power
lines and phone lines were blown down. Power has been restored to most
residents."
