Alberto has once again strengthened to hurricane status. As of 5 pm et/4 pm ct... Alberto was about 965 miles southeast of Bermuda(24.0 N, 52.0 W)... moving northwest near 22 mph. The maximum sustained winds are up to near 75 mph, with gusts to 90 mph. The minimum central pressure is 987 millibars(29.14 inches).
Alberto is currently forecast to make a more northerly turn between 24 and 48 hours out... it is also expected to strenghten and become a Category 2 hurricane within 48 hours. Bermuda is the only area of concern right now... but it seems at this tim that they will definitely avoid a direct hit.
TD 4 continues about 100 miles north northeast of Freeport, Bahamas or 155 miles east of Melbourne, Florida(27.9 N, 78.1 W)... moving west near 5 mph. The maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph, with gusts to 45 mph. The minimum central pressure is near 1010 millibars(29.81 inches).
The latest official forecast for TD 4 takes it slowly west through 24 hours... then turning north by 48 hours... and headed out to sea by 72 hours. It is still expected to remain a tropical depression through this period.
