How the Pages Were Created

J's World Consists Of:

How these Pages Were Created and Why

All of these pages were written by hand. I find, having learned HTML in my senior year in College, that many of the HTML-Writer Programs that are out today only slow me down. Of course, with the hand-written, frequently updated pages you will find here you may find that some do not validate. Trust me, if I ever have time to validate them I will.

The 3-D images that appear on the Main Page and subsequently on others, were created using Caligri's TruSpace2. The images were then resampled, resized, and de-colored into GIF or JPG format from their original TGA format by either or both Adobe Photoshop 2.5LE and Paint Shop Pro.

I have created these pages, mostly in the winter of 1995-1996, to give Internet Users pages that I believe are attractive, informative, and contain useful links and 'cool' downloads of graphics, etc. My first home page, I suppose, would have been created around Groundhog Day in 1995 when I was taking the first Internet class ever at UNCA, Intro to the Internet. Honestly though, most of my knowledge of HTML has come from simply viewing other's pages. I think that's about the best way to learn, but it's good to have a fairly extensive Internet or at least computer background when you do this, to understand why, sometimes, others' code does not work for you...

Update, November 1996. I realize now that the main page should at this time be more creative and fancier, but I just don't have time to keep up with all the technology. You must realize, however, that when I put that page up in 1995 that it was the stuff! Now it's just mediocre... but I'm trying to provide more content too so that's a good thing.

ABOUT THE COUNTERS : The counters, featured at the bottom of each page, along with a clock and date on the Main Page, and a SOON TO COME Counter Page. Meantime, check the Official Page for this type of counter. It is a very configurable, easy to use and install counter.
