Strong winds and heavy downpours accompanied a strong low pressure system that
moved just west of here this morning. The winds this morning caused widespread
damage to many trees and a gust of 41mph at 8:40am uprooted a large pine tree
in my front yard. The Manchester, NH airport (KMHT) recorded a wind gust of
52mph this morning. The storm brought us 0.74" of rain here in Auburn, but it
was much heavier west of here in the Monadnocks as heavy rain combined with
snowmelt caused flooding problems. Things have calmed down now as the clean-up
begins.
