I was reminded by today's "Record Snowfall : 25.00"" on my Weather
Station Page that indeed yesterday and today mark the 6-year anniversary
of the Blizzard of 1993, also known as the Storm Of the Century.

I remember it well, I was in school at the time in the middle of my BS
in Meteorology at UNCA. It was spring break that Friday when the storm
was overspreaeding the state. I was one of the lucky students who got
out in time, and arrived home just as the snow was accumulating. My
roomate and others were not as lucky and were stuck at the school for
several days without power, water, or food. 26" of snow fell at school,
24" at my parents' house, both of those in western NC.

The NCDC did a report on the event:

A photo that I took at my parents' house in NC on 3/13/93 was featured
in the official NOAA report on the Superstorm:

And another picture (with me in '93) from that day is at:

I'll link 'em!
