Multiple Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and Tornado Warnings continue to
cover the Carolinas and Georgia this hour. Member Reports:
Me - Called my parents in Boomer NC to warn them of an approaching storm
at 9pm - this was their first storm of the day so they didn't have any
reports but I encouraged them to keep a close eye on the situation
tonight. A decent sized storm moved over them at 10pm.
Talked to Powell Way (near Columbia SC) at 10pm, who was taking cover as
a storm with a Tornado Warning moved into his county.
N GA Weather Watchers:
The squall line moved through
around 7:30 with dime sized hail and winds gusting to 35mph. A tornado
warning went out for walker co which is the next county west of me after
finding out the direction of the storm, it would pass 10 miles north of
me. After about braking my neck trying to get in the car I headed north
on I-75 about 5 mile north of me I could see the towering
CB's but due to the traffic the storm past north east of me and the
chase was off, Did get some pictures of the CB's. The weather radios got
a real good workout this afternoon. AS of now I think 6 tornado warnings
were issued within 40 mile of my location but no damage has been
reported.... Rick Davis North Ga Weather Watchers
