Finally I have completed all the Member Home Page Changes that have been
sent to me. If you sent changes and I didn't reply to you by Sunday,
please contact me, they may have been lost in the mail - you know how
the Net can be.
Needless to say it took me longer to do these than I would have
expected, due to improvements I wanted to make to the Members sections
and the loss of several days last week to severe weather data
collection. I intend to have a report on the southern storms up on the
CASI site by next week.
I have improved the Members Section this weekend, completing programming
for the EDIT form so that it will now work from any browser, not just
those who support mail. A couple peoples changes didn't go through
because some browsers were choking on the mail call, but it's a "real"
form now so that shouldn't happen anymore.
I have had considerable trouble getting the map server, MapBlast, to
find certain addresses - RR's, Boxes, and even some Streets. I wish
that I could use MapQuest which is the better map server, but they don't
allow remote use of their data and linking the way MapBlast does. Until
I can figure out a better solution I am forcing the load of a local map
from those people's pages who have the problem. The link will still go
to MapBlast as MapQuest won't allow linking. This makes for a lot of
more manual work when updating pages but it's the only thing I can think
of for the moment.
In addition I have added several fields due to popular request... they
are as follows:
Radio/Communications Equipment - Just what it says, including types of
weatherradios, scanners, whatever you use for chasing,spotting,or
investigating the weather.
Camera/Video Equipment - What still or moving picture equipment you
have, be it digital, analog, 35mm, whatever, that you use for
chasing/spotting/investigating.
Zipcode (in City field)
Instructions Sections - A place where you can comment or give special
directions on updating your Member Pages with the form.
