Hey folks,

I often get requests for the ICQ numbers of other CASI members, and to
alleviate me finding them and sending them out time and again, I thought
I'd make a list - of the members that would like their #'s published on
a list of CASI Members #'s - to store on our website. This list would
be fore CASI Members only.

If any of you are currently using ICQ and would be interested in being
on a list of CASI Members' ICQ numbers, to be stored in the Members Only
section of our site, please either:

Message me at ICQ # 136832

If you don't reply then I won't put you on the list - respecting online
privacy as always I realize that everybody may not want to be on this
list.

For those of you that don't have ICQ, ICQ is an Internet Messaging
system that alerts you if anyone on your list of contacts comes online,
goes offline, is busy, etc, and allows you to send and receive short
messages in real-time. You can also engage in real-time chat with one
or more users, and send files (pictures, etc). Although I'm not one for
installing every new app that comes out, and I'm not even into online
chats much, I really like this application. It's kind of like e-mail
but much more timely. It's like IRC but much easier to use. So far
there are 10,000,000 users of ICQ worldwide. So far there are
approximately 15 to 20 CASI Members that I know of on ICQ. It is
supported by all OS's including Win3.1 and Mac I believe. At this time
it is free but they may want to get revenue for it in the future by
direct charge or just advertising revenue. Please check it out!

Notes on ME on ICQ: If you try to add me to your list, you will get an
"Authorization Request" window. I didn't used to do this cause it's
kind of a pain, but I kept getting requests to chat from people I don't
know who are just looking for random people to talk to, and as much as I
would like to participate in that sort of thing I just don't have time.
You don't even have to put in a request reason except for that you're a
CASI member and I will add you as soon as I can. I'm always happy to
add other weather observers to my list.

If you're used to seeing me on ICQ in the evenings you may have noticed
that I tend to disappear around 10pm lately... this is due to an attempt
to shift my work schedule to allow for more daylight time out of work
now that the temps are on their way up and the storms are too. I am
contracted at 45 hours a week, and used to work roughly 9-6 this winter
but for the summer I am trying to shift this to 7-4, which means going
to bed shortly after 10pm (weather permitting ;)). Similarly if you
call me on the phone after 10pm you may get the answering machine.
