WINTER OUTBREAK: Subtracting out duplicates and corrections, about 96
record low temperatures were reported yesterday as a Spring cold wave
gripped the United States. Low temperatures were in the TEENS in the
Northern Plains and the 30s reached every state except the Deep South and
Florida. The only record highs were once again ironically in Hawaii and
Alaska! There were officially 72 Record Reports issued, which falls in the
top 10 most record-breaking days in the past two years and the first big
record day in May (the most ever was 99 on October 22, 2003 - A complete
list can be found at the URL above).
