There would appear to be some potential thundersnow off the coast of the
Northeastern U.S. tonight. I was surprised to be detecting strikes on my
Boltek lightning detector off the coast of Delaware tonight...

so I downloaded some official data from LightningStorm.com which confirmed
cloud-to-ground strikes in the same area...

All services agree that the precipitation off the coast is snow tonight...

as the cold air creates convective precipitation over the warmer water...

Buoy observations indicate temperatures around 3 degrees Celcius...
