Bitter cold weather here in Central PA, home to WeatherMatrix HQ
today. Our wind chill dipped to the coldest readings thus far this season
- 1F (old formula) at 7:13PM tonight. To make matters worse, it has been
snowing off and on all day, but not enough to accumulate more than a dusting.

Wind Chills are below zero tonight in the upper Midwest which recorded some
doozies this morning (old formula):
12/13/2004-15Z -39.8 F at Grand Marais MN (CKC)
12/13/2004-14Z -40.3 F at Grand Marais MN (CKC)
12/13/2004-13Z -39.8 F at Grand Marais MN (CKC)
12/13/2004-03Z -39.7 F at Thief River MN (TVF)

These nationwide minimum wind chills have taken a dive today after being
just below zero for nearly a week.

In Alaska, wind chills have fallen to -56F (new formula) today!
