On the heels of a strong cold front on Friday evening 12/10/04 the coldest
airmass of the season descended upon Florida early Sunday morning 12/12/04.
The cold spot in the state was 31 deg. at Fort White in the peninsula north
region. It also dropped to 31 deg. at East Nobleton and Holder on the
central peninsula. The cold spot on the southern peninsula was 41 deg. at
Immokalee.
Other notable temperatures across the north include 32 deg. at Perry, Quincy
and Tallahassee and 33 deg. at Crestview and Jay. On the central Peninsula
36 deg. was reported at Plant City (also a wind chill 30 deg.), Brooksville,
Mount Plymouth, Old Venus and Scottsmoor.
For tonight with an expected SE trajectory of the cold surface high pressure
system to a position over the southern peninsula by early morning, the
subfreezing line will extend down into the inland rural southern peninsula
west of U.S. 27 to about Immokalee.
An even colder airmass invades the state on Monday-Tuesday 12/13-14/04, with
a hard freeze expected across the north and into portions of the inland
rural west central peninsula on Wednesday morning 12/15/04, with the
subfreezing line down to around Immokalee once again.

As I officially retired from "for profit" weather forecasting in 2000, I do
not have the time available to conduct an in depth daily meteorological
synoptic analysis, therefore my day to day accuracy will be less then in
past years, when I had a 48 hour forecast accuracy in the high 90% range.
Also as Meteorology and Weather Forecasting is still an inexact science,
these not for profit discussions, forecasts and outlooks are not for use in
lieu of official sources, are not for protection of life or property, are
for educational purposes only and are subject to human error and acts of
God, therefore no guarantee or warranty implied. This discussion herein is
