This occurred last night at about 7:30pm. A truck driving westbound
over the Cedar river, mile marker 266, last night lost control due to
snow and ice on the bridge, then causing a several car pileup
consisting of 6 cars, 3 semis, and a camper. Eight people were
transported by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa
City. The pileup closed the interstate for about 4 hours as traffic was
rerouted on highway 6.
