Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina, dawned frosty cold Thursday. At
Vostok station, Antarctica, slipped to 112.4 degrees below zero
Wednesday, an unusually strong summer storm spread windswept rain

versus an average high of 90. Southward, Marina di Ginosa was nearly
15 degrees too hot for an average July day in reaching 100. Eastern
Sicily recorded 102 degrees at Sigonella.

the average low for the date is 42. Along the city's waterfront, a low
of 37 degrees was set.
