QUOTES:
"ABC13 Eyewitness News
(5/01/04) Saturday was a very busy day, weather-wise, and now we've
learned Mayor Ben Ogletree of Livingston is declaring a state of emergency
because of the number of flooded homes and businesses there.

We're told at one point there, Highway 59 south in Livingston was under
several feet of water. Another one of the hardest hit areas was Tomball
around Graham Road and Highway 249. People there are cleaning up from what
was possibly a tornado.

In northwest Harris County, some people think a tornado tore through part
of two buildings. It happened on Kuykendahl near FM 1960. Both a collision
shop and an auto shop next door were damaged in the early morning storm.
The facade was blown off both buildings and part of it landed on a car.
Henri Janer saw it happen from his store across the street.

Strong winds also swept through west Harris County. And while they lasted
for a just few seconds, they were enough to damage roofs and tear apart a
tree. Neighbors spent most of the afternoon cleaning up. In northeast
Houston, residents were also dodging downed power lines and tree limbs.

Centerpoint Energy tells us about 40,000 people lost electricity during the
storms, but the lights are now back on in most of those homes."
