QUOTES:
"LAKELAND -- A severe storm swept through Polk County Friday evening just
as people were going home from work.

Violent winds and mild floods swept across the county. National Weather
Service radar appeared to show a tornado in the southeast part of the
county, near Lake Wales, prompting a tornado warning for the county at 5 p.m.

But there were no reports of a tornado touching ground, and the warning was
canceled an hour later after the radar showed the storm no longer appeared
to be a threat, said Juli Marquez, meteorologist for Bay News 9.

Power outages and several storm-related fires were reported around east
Lakeland and in Winter Haven."
