Non-Thunderstorm Wind Damage - Lake Okeechobee, Florida
Tuesday April 13, 2004
Video/Photo(s) By: Jeff Gammons
Non-thunderstorm damaging winds from the mid levels of the atmosphere were brought to the surface for a few hours early tuesday morning. Wind damage reports came in from Key West to Central Florida. I documented a wind lake surge on the north shore of Lake Okeechobee filling the parking area with lake water.
There were many mobile homes with roof damage and large tree's down on homes and cars. The worst of the wind event lasted from 4-8am ET with winds 50-70Mph in gusts.
