"GRAMPIANS - A tornado which struck during a storm earlier this month has
carved out a path of destruction in the Grampians National Park. The
destruction, which can only be seen when in the air, was spotted on the
eastern side of the Victoria Range by Graeme Boatman of Stawell Aviation
Services. The tornado has completely torn large trees out of the ground,
leaving a bare patch of about eight to ten hectares without any vegetation
at all. Mr Boatman said the winds were so violent, that even the
undergrowth has been torn out."
