"(KCBS)--KCBS reporter Ron Naso has been monitoring the conditions
including the high winds buffeting the bridges where the National Weather
Service has posted a high wind warning.

Early Thursday a ten-car vehicle pile up in Interstate 80 in Berkeley left
one person dead.

There is standing water on many of the roads and when motorists come up to
it they often do not see it making for hazardous driving conditions.

In Marin County there has been some flooding reported in San Anselmo where
the sandbags are already in place.

Runoff from the recent heavy rainstorms in the Bay Area has created higher
pollution levels in San Francisco Bay. The San Francisco Chronicle reports
that high levels of waste contamination have been detected in the ocean and
in the bay.

The heavy rains flush livestock and bird waste into creeks and major
waterways so health officials are telling people to stay away from San
Mateo County beaches at least for Thursday."
