"ASTORIA, Ore. -- High winds at sea forced the waves to surge on the Oregon
Coast.
The surf swelled to nearly 30 feet overnight and were expected to drop
below 20 feet Thursday afternoon.
Waves crashed against the South Jetty in Astoria (pictured).
Beachgoers were warned to watch for dangerous sneaker waves.
In the mountains, the storm brought some early snow. Timberline Lodge
reported 5 new inches overnight. "
