Hidi-ho good neighbors. Greetings from the wind swept, mud bowl of the Mid
Atlantic. Record winds, rain, and frustration marked September 2003. Here is a
short list of records and monthly totals. Until later...........

Old Man Greg Keefer has some of the most extensive private weather records
around. When weather sets a record at his station that is saying something
considering his records go back to the 1898 when Old Man Keefer was a young pup of
40. {:0>} Surprisingly, his records also show that the 1990s though the
present time has seen some of the wettest periods in more than 100 years.

Wettest Septembers on record (Hagerstown, MD 1 E)
1. 11.45 - 2003
2. 10.54 - 1996
3. 10.09 - 1975
4.  8.67 - 1999
5.  7.95 - 1993

So far 2003 has been the fourth wettest year on record. (Hagerstown, MD 1 E)

4. 51.30 - 2003 (Through October 2)

Hurricane Isabel blew through my homestead in the hills knocking out power
for five days. Wind gust of 63 mph on Sept. 18 and 69 mph on Sept. 19 set new
September high wind records.
