WHITECONE, Ariz. - Tuesday afternoon's monsoon hit hard with floods
reported to the Department of Emergency Management's incident command
center in Window Rock. But that's not all.

There are reports of four possible tornado sightings on the reservation.
Wednesday morning Capt. Daniel K. Thomas, incident commander, was trying to
confirm the tornadoes.

He said he had reports of a home losing its roof and sheds damaged from a
funnel 2 1/2 miles west of Burnside Junction, just west of Ganado, Ariz.

Another tornado sighting was reported eight miles northeast of the
Whitecone Chapter House on Toyei road.

Resident Delbert Williams said he has video footage of two funnels in the
sky. One of the funnels caused damage to the home of his uncle, Edison
Belin, 1/4 mile away.

Two more sightings were reported, one in an area south of Dilkon, Ariz.,
called Castle Butte and in Wide Ruins, Ariz., where trees were reported
uprooted with branches broken."
