I don't believe that there are any weather government stations in Iraq that
are on the main weather feeds yet. Historically no official weather
reports have come out of Iraq for obvious reasons. That brings up a good
question of what is being done in regards to repairing weather stations in
both Iraq and Afghanistan to begin transmitting readings to the rest of the
world. If any of you know what the status is, I would be curious to know.
Here is the news reference to the reading of 135 "last week":

By HANNAH ALLAM
Knight Ridder Newspapers
"Temperatures rose to a scorching 135 degrees across Iraq last week,
causing a U.S. soldier's death Saturday of heat-related complications and
sending dozens more to seek emergency treatment for dehydration, heat
exhaustion and heatstroke, military officials said."
Another article notes "Hannah Allam can be reached at
<mailto:hallam{at}pioneerpress.com>hallam{at}pioneerpress.com or (651) 228-2172."
if anyone wants to research further.
This article quotes a 127-degree temp "in the last two days":
"A U.S. soldier died in his sleep from what commanders described as heat
stress. He was the second soldier in two days to succumb to temperatures
that have reached 127 degrees"
