We are expected a Heavy Snowfall for eastern Ontario however in light of the
drubbing that our east coast took the last 24 - 48 hours it's hard to take a
foot of snow seriously.
The 1944 record for P.E.I. of 50.8cm or roughly 20 inches for a one day
snowfall was broken fully by double with more expected at the time of the
report. More snow is predicted for the region for the next 2 -3 days and
they are currently under a blizzard warning as the snow continues and the
winds have kicked up to 50mph. Environment Canada has called this a Weather
Bomb.
Here in Ontario snow will begin this afternoon with an initial 7 - 10 inches
of the white stuff then another 5 inches tomorrow. Added to this is a
possibility of freezing rain as there is a warm front which is preceding
this system into the region. Should be fun. My webcam will remain on at 10
minutes intervals during the height of the storm so long as we have power. I
am in a rural region of Ontario which is subjected to frequent blackouts
during storms.
