Nova Scotia, eastern New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island are
getting hammered with a blizzard today. Already over a foot (30 cm) of
snow has fallen most of mainland Nova Scotia, with 50+ cm in the
forecast. A Blizzard Warning is in effect for all of Nova Scotia, PEI
and eastern New Brunswick. Storm surge is also expected to be an issue
in New Brunswick. Most roads in Nova Scotia are reported as
impassable. Nova Scotia has called a state of emergency.
Here in Fredericton, were are escaping the brunt of the storm with
only 5 cm of snow forecast. Only a dusting on the ground currently,
but winds are quite strong reducing the visibility.
