"NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- An unusually heavy snow storm dumped as much
as 11 inches in areas south of Nashville, creating hazardous driving
conditions and causing sporadic power outages.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol warned motorists to stay off the roads,
concerned about ice developing on roadways as temperatures drop into the
20s overnight.

The town of Lawrenceburg, about 80 miles south of Nashville, reported up to
11 inches of snow, and about 8 inches blanketed nearby Columbia.

State troopers blamed the icy conditions for dozens of wrecks in
Tennessee's midsection, and Interstates 40, 24 and 65 all were shut down in
both directions for short periods of time. The interstates were moving
again Sunday evening."
