Quotes:
"Although western South Dakota had the highest gusts, the whole state was
buffeted by strong winds on Wednesday - winds that created hazardous
driving conditions by blowing snow all around.

Wind gusts to 57 mph buffeted Ellsworth Air Force Base east of Rapid City
Wednesday, and gusts were reported up to 43 mph at Buffalo in the
northwestern corner of the state.

Authorities said some state highways had snow drifts 3 feet high.

At least 10 school districts in northwestern South Dakota canceled classes
Wednesday, although school was in session in Rapid City. Elsewhere in the
state, dozens of schools either didn't have class, started late or closed
early as the wind caused a myriad of visibility problems."
