Maritimers brace for another storm
27,000 homes still without power since Sunday's icy blast

"SUSSEX, N.B. -- Still reeling from a treacherous storm carrying a knockout
punch more powerful than the notorious ice storm of 1998, New Brunswickers
braced themselves yesterday for yet another wallop.

With tens of thousands of homes still in darkness from a icy snowstorm
Sunday, people in the southern regions of the province were forced to bear
a second front of rain, freezing rain and snow expected last night.

Power crews worked steadily yesterday to repair the damage from Sunday,
clearing away ice-encrusted tree branches shorting out power lines."
