Union County,NC...Very difficult to get acurate measurement of snow depth.I
would imagine most of you are in the same boat.High winds have literally
blown the snow away in most open areas.My picnic table on the deck is in a
protected area.6" on that.In some palces there are drifts of up to 2 feet.
Wind chills will be dangerous as winds will not subside before temps
drop.Record low predicted for this area.It is currentrly 12 degrees.High
wind gust was 27mph.All readings courtesy Monroe(NC) Airport
This is a zephyr compared to the weather the NC mountains are
getting.Boone,NC had a wind gust of 63mph!
