Hello All,
It sure was a wild day in Rhode Island yesterday. I measured a high temp
of 60 f. ! Windswept, torrential rains, almost seemed tropical.
Rainfall: 1.35" and a Peak Wind Gust of 41 Mph.
Many roads had alot of ponding of water on them. It made for a nightmare
evening commute, combined with many people out shopping. By 7 Pm, AAA of
Southern New England had over 6,000 calls. There were numerous auto
collisions as well.
Power was out to 2,000 customers in North Providence. The lights
flickered on and off here.
I would like to compare it to a tropical depression with the conditions we
had. Blue Hill Observatory in Mass had atleast one gust to 71 Mph.
