It was a warm one yesterday. This early Winter season had been running
below average temperatures and above average precipitation and snowfall.

755 AM EST Sat Dec 21 2002, Corrected issuance date

Record warmth and record rainfall in Providence yesterday

Southerly breezes elevated the mercury to reach 60 degrees yesterday
morning at T F Green state airport. This broke the previous record of 59
degrees set December 20th
1957. the normal high for December 20th is 41 degrees, and this in fact
equaled the actual daily low temperature.

In addition 1.31 inches of rainfall accumulated yesterday, breaking the
December 20th daily record of 1.29 inches set in 1926.
