Hi all well everyone by now heard about the tornado that hit
Ladysmith on monday afternoon.Yes I was chasing that storm started to
chase it from Cumberland before it was severe. Now to let everyone
know the NWS had a severe storm warning on it. It was not till a
police officer called in the tornado then the NWS put out the tornado
warning with that said.I do belive the rotaion in the storm was in
the lower part and or with MPX being so far away the radar beam was
over shooting the storm's rotation,I myself didnt see the radr all
day it was a chase that just happen without any planing on my part.So
i'm not sure what really happen there but there was a tornado warning
out on it abite late for the folks in Ladysmith though, plus the storm
grew so fast it takes 5 min for the radar beam to go around with all
that said it was one of those storms that just got out of control so
fast I would think it would have been hard for anyone to pick the
rotation out that fast, heck I didnt see the wall cloud all I saw was
the funnel than a sec later bang tornado.and yes it was rain wrapped
big time so agian it was not the class room text book storm.
Dirk S.Miller
My heart and prayers going out to the ppl in Ladysmith.
