Code Purple Air Day in Washington DC Tue

(caption)
Meteorologist Bob Ryan stands in front of live (6:30pm ET Tue) video of
the Nation's Capitol. The Washington Monument (just left of center of
the shot) is barely visible, even though it is less than 5 miles away.

He reported that the Council of Governments (serving Washington DC &
Baltimore MD local gov'ts) had stated the AQI exceeded the 200
threshold, bringing the AQI into the purple range. That level is
unhealthy for everyone.

The AQI on Wednesday had improved to code orange.

In nw VA, we were at code orange Tue & code yellow Wed.
