SEVERE WEATHER RIPS THROUGH WNC
Wild weather whipped through Western North Carolina Thursday night with heavy rains and damaging winds. There were reports of at least two homes in Madison County losing part of their roofs. The wind also knocked down trees and power lines across the area. Late Thursday night there were more than 10,000 people in Western North Carolina without electricity. It will probably be Friday morning before all the power is restored. There are no reports on injuries from the storm.
