The National Ice Center reported on Monday that a
gigantic iceberg has surfaced from the Thwaites Ice
Tongue in Antarctica. The iceberg named B-22 is 46
nautical miles wide and 35 nautical miles wide
covering an area of approximately 2,120 square statute
miles. The iceberg was first noticed by satellite on
February 8th, 2002.
