Subject: Hurricane spawned tornado in Belize
According to the insurance investigators, a spin-up tornado from
Hurricane
Iris may have capsized a dive boat in Belize last week. I don't know
what
their qualifications are for determining tornado damage. I haven't heard
of
hurricane spawned tornadoes in Central America but I guess it's
possible. I
have a personal interest in this story since a friend of mine was one of
the
survivors.

Diving Tragedy Update
A follow-up on the accident that killed 17 members of the Richmond Dive
Club
last week. Investigators now say their boat may have been hit by a
tornado
spawned by Hurricane Iris. The charter boat the dive team was on
capsized
when the hurricane made landfall in Belize. Seventeen Richmonders and
two
crew members were killed. Investigators for the boat's insurance carrier
say
a tornado may have spun off hurricane Iris and toppled the boat. An
official
government investigation is still underway in Belize.
