The National Weather Service has issued a heat watch for the Philadelphia
Metropolitan area through Tuesday, and probably after that too. This is
because a Bermuda high pressure system is forecast to bring some of the
hottest weather since 1999 into the Philadelphia area. Beginning Monday, and
probably lasting through Friday, highs are forecast to be in the mid
90s...with some spots possibly getting into the upper 90s.
But remember, "It's not the heat, but the humidity!" While the temperature
this week will be in the mid 90s, when combined with humidity, it should
feel like it's in the low to mid 100s. This, without a doubt, is dangerous.
Philadelphia won't be the only city dealing with the heat. Major cities
throughout the Mid-Atlantic will have to find ways to stay cool this week.
