PESHAWAR, Pakistan – Torrential rains in north and central Pakistan
caused flash flooding and mudslides Monday, killing at
least 34 people
and injuring 48 others, police said. Many are still
missing.
As rain fell on large parts of northern and central
Pakistan, the government
issued urgent appeals to people living close to rivers
and canals to leave
