The South China Sea: Tropical Storm Cimaron is now located approximately 125
miles west of Manila, heading toward the north at 8 mph with maximum
sustained winds of 45 mph and gusts up to 55 mph. Cimaron is expected to
intensify quickly over the next 12 to 24 hours, due to the lack of
significant wind shearing at the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere. The
storm could strengthen into a Typhoon by Saturday night or Sunday morning.
