[STORMREPORTS] SSW Florida- Drought Broken

Well, here in Cape Coral, Lee County, Florida (SSW portion of FL), things have finally gotten WET.
The storm began with heavy winds last night with a few sprinkles. This continued thru the night until about 6:30 am when it finally began to rain--steadily until about 2PM. It was the kind of rain we needed;a steady soaker, though at times, there were heavy downpours. Lightning and thunder did occur but really only on a mild basis in comparison to our violent summer storms. My rain guage measured 1.8 inches as of 2PM. Temperature is only 67 degrees F which does provide a nice temporary cooldown. This is what we needed. Richard Macomber-Cape Coral, FL
