Time to pull out your centimeters-to-inches conversion chart....

"Nova Scotia buried under blanket of snow"

HALIFAX - A weekend winter storm packed a wallop in Atlantic Canada, and
people were paying the price on Monday. In Nova Scotia, shovellers were
straining to move up to 50 centimetres of snow in some areas.

It's hard on the muscles. And it's hard on city budgets. Halifax –
which
got 30 centimetres of snow on the weekend – sets aside about $8 million
a
year for snow removal.

And with January not even over, it's already spent about half of that.
Nova Scotia was hit hardest, but the swirling snow and bitter wind also
whipped through Newfoundland, New Brunswick and P.E.I.

Still struggling with the conversion?:

30cm= approx 11.8"
50cm= approx 19.7"
