Early this am, at about 2, very light snow was falling here, but by 3am,
it switched back to rain. Although a change over will take several
hours, all snow should be occurring by 9am. The temp had fallen from
36.3 at midnight to 34.7 at 3:30am
The NWS finally issued a statement on the storm at 4pm, w/ a winter
weather advisory at 10pm. The NWS, along with Washington media has been
underplaying this storm. While many forecasters are calling for a 2-4"
event in our area, with 1-3" nearer Washington DC, i think
1 1/2 times that total will fall.
The 2 last storms of this magnitude was hyped for 5 days before the
arrival. Unless one payed
close attention to weathercasts, this was a "non event" until Fri eve,
and still being treated as a routine event now.
