Lee County continues without rain and is under tight water restrictions.
This evening when driving home from work (Punta Gorda to Cape Coral), I did
run into a substantial rainstorm (but still in Charlotte County north of Lee
County). This is the second rainstorm in several days in Charlotte County
but the rain never develops in Lee County. Even thought they have received
some rain, Charlotte is still in severe drought conditions (the Peace River
is at a very low level); water restrictions are in force. We have had
beautiful weather but it has been dry. This morning there were plenty of low
overhanging clouds from north Cape Coral to Punta Gorda along with quite
foggy conditions. We have been at the 85 degree high temperature level but
Sunday it is supposed to drop to a high of 76. Richard Macomber-Cape Coral,
